My story has a new beginning
Michael (photo, left) is here to stay! We don’t mean he’s a permanent resident at Hope Ministries – after all, our goal is to empower homeless men and women to make their own way in the world. Instead, after graduating from our Journey of Hope recovery program, Michael is “here to stay” in the family of God, as a permanent resident of His Kingdom!
Michael was born on the south side of Chicago and “growing up was pretty normal,” he says. Sadly, “normal” as Michael describes it meant being smacked around a lot by his parents, skipping school, run-ins with the police and fighting in bars.
When Michael first came to Hope Ministries, he didn’t believe he’d make it through our program. “I knew I’d screw up because that’s what I always do. Any time something good ever happened, I’d end up drinking it away.” This time was different, though! Read the rest of his inspiring story here.

This is our major fundraiser for Hope Family Center with keynote speaker Ann Longobardi and returning guest emcee Brooke Bouma from WHO Channel 13. Many thanks to presenting sponsors Community State Bank and Life 107.1

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
