Dear Friends,
Each time I meet the men, women and children rebuilding their lives at our Bethel Mission, Door of Faith or Hope Family Center facilities, I wonder about the situations that brought these precious people to our doors. Often, I’ll simply ask, “Why did you come?” Ultimately, their most frequent and honest answers
are, “I was hungry,” “I had no place to sleep” and “My life was going nowhere.”
Many of these struggling souls have suffered weeks, months or even years of physical and spiritual neglect and abuse. In addition to the malnutrition that has destroyed their health, emotional wounds have closed their hearts. We know it will take time, patience and understanding to feed their bodies and nourish their souls—but they have that here, in a safe, clean and loving environment that many thought didn’t exist.
Like the “workers” described in Matthew 9:36-38, you and other faithful friends enable us to provide this place of hope where they learn of a God who loves, forgives and changes lives. Through your gifts of time, prayer and financial support, we can help His weary sheep find their Shepherd who will continue to guide their paths. Thank you for acting with compassion and being our partners in healing bodies and
souls with Christ’s love.
Your Partner in Ministry,
