A Message from the CEO

President Leon Negen and our staff believe having an opportunity to share a warm meal and words of encouragement with a struggling resident or homeless guest is an achievement in itself.

Dear Friends,

When I talk about Hope Ministries' achievements, I don't define them in terms of percentages or success rates, as most people would expect. Instead, I describe what achievement looks like:

Achievement is feeding a warm meal to someone who hasn't eaten in days, with no strings attached . . . a man coming in from the cold and sitting down with those who care enough to lead him in a positive direction . . . a mom securing a job and housing, becoming involved in a local body of believers and never returning to the old way of life.

At Hope Ministries, achievement is each of these things . . . all of these things . . . and so many things in between. But it's never measured solely on the basis of whether or not a man or woman completes our recovery program. You see, we've all fallen short of God's expectations in one way or another. Yet He never forsakes us. At Hope Ministries, we're called to do nothing less for every soul who leaves our program before he or she is ready—or who appears to have changed, but stumbles and falls.

If these lost lambs return to our doors, we welcome them back with forgiveness, as He does. If they don't, we know He's chosen a different path for them and trust them to His care. Either way, we're grateful to have been part of their journeys and, in some small or life-changing way, introduced them to Christ's love.

My friend, your compassion, generosity and faithful prayers—through God's grace—allow Hope Ministries to make this statement with confidence: There are no failures here! Thank you for your steadfast support of the men, women and children we care for as they travel their journeys of hope.

Your Partner in Ministry,

Leon Negen
