What makes Hope Ministries different?
When Trey, 29, began his search for a long-term recovery center, one thing he knew for sure was he wanted to find a Christ-centered program. “There’s a hole in me. Obviously I’m not dealing with life on my own terms. I can’t do it on my own. I know I need God.”
Trey isn’t alone. The men, women and children who come to Hope Ministries aren’t only hungry for food, they’re not only desperate for shelter…they’re craving something more – even if don’t know what that “something” is. They’re craving the love of a Heavenly Father…
At Hope Ministries, we truly believe that change begins with a transformation of the heart. And it’s God love, grace and guidance which make that transformation possible. Which is why – in addition to providing three meals a day, clean clothing and safe shelter – we introduce our individuals and families to the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.
That’s what makes us different!
“What I love about Hope Ministries is it’s a ministry that’s working in every area of a client’s life,” says Dornita, a current intern at our Hope Family Center. “We’re not only addressing the material things, we’re meeting spiritual needs as well. And that’s where true change begins.”
Hope Ministries tends to the spiritual needs of our men, women and children in a number of ways.
Prayer: Of all the things we do at Hope Ministries, we know the absolute most important component of our ministry is prayer. Our staff members and volunteers pray fervently for our residents. And the hundreds of members of our Hope Prayer Team are also vigilant prayer warriors.
Chapel and devotions: Our residents at our various facilities faithfully attend chapel and/or participate in daily devotions. We do not force Christianity on anyone, but we seek to introduce our residents to a God who loves them and has a good plan for their life!
Classes: In addition to recovery and basic life skills classes, we also offer spiritual development classes meant to encourage our residents in their faith walk.
Christ truly is at the center of everything we do at Hope Ministries. It’s what makes us different, and it’s what brings long-term hope to our men, women and children so that they can echo the words of Tracy, a current resident at our Hope Family Center: “It’s like I’m adopted into a royal family. I am a daughter to the King, a princess,” says Tracy. “Here at Hope Ministries, I’ve made a spiritual investment that will last my entire life!”
