ADOPT-A-BROTHER AND ADOPT-A-FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS
Hope Ministries is introducing two new Christmas programs this year called Adopt-a-Brother and Adopt-a-Family.
ADOPT-A-BROTHER
Each year we average between 100-200 homeless men at Christmas time. It’s a heavy time of year when you have no family to spend Christmas with. Each year, we do our best to lift their spirits, but the emptiness is still evident.
This year we’d like to present each of our homeless men with a special Hope Gift-Bag with contents provided by their Adopt-a-Brother sponsor. We estimate the contents to cost between $30-$50.
If you, your family, small group at church, S.S. class, youth group, senior group, department at work, place of employment and/or any other group feel called to Adopt-a-Brother this Christmas, please contact community relations staff @ 265-7272 or info@hopeiowa.org for specific directions and gift bag contents.
This is a wonderful outreach opportunity to the mission field right here in our own back yard.
ADOPT-A-FAMILY
For over 40 years, Hope Ministries (through our Bethel Mission chapel) has sponsored a gift distribution to low-income and impoverished families on Christmas Day.
This year we are introducing Adopt-a-Family a wonderful outreach opportunity to the mission field right here in Central Iowa.
We plan to present each family with a special Hope Gift Box with contents that have been provided by their Adopt-A-Family sponsor. We estimate the contents for each Hope Gift Box to cost between $40 -$50.
If you, your family, small group at church, S.S. class, youth group, senior group, department at work, place of employment and/or any other group feel called to Adopt-a-Family this Christmas, please visit the link below for specific directions and exact Hope box contents.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR CHRISTMAS MEAL

HOPE FAMILY CENTER RECEPTIONIST VOLUNTEER NEEDED

We are seeking a Christian who could help answer the phone, welcome visitors and bring joy to our moms and their children on Wednesdays or Thursdays (one or more) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the months of October, November and December. Please contact Lisa Heffelfinger Volunteer Coordinator at 265-7272 or send an e-mail to lheffelfinger@hopeiowa.org.

RECOVERY GRADUATE CARD SHOWER
You may know that we have fiver graduations a year for men & women completing our S.T.A.R. & H.E.A.R.T. recovery programs.
Every recovery graduation is a special time when we gather with graduates, their families, volunteers, donors and residents, to celebrate the change in their lives and give God the glory and praise for the transformation of their hearts. Our graduations are the culmination for all that we strive for. It’s a very inspiring event.
The card shower we initiated for our last graduations were a great success. The graduates were very blessed and surprised that so many people would take time to write them a note of encouragement. Thanks to all who participated.
On Saturday, November 10th, four more men & one woman (and her family) will graduate from our recovery programs and transition to independent living once again as healed men, woman & children of God. Their names are Kelley, Chuck, Keven, Greg & Jim.
These men, woman & children came to us over a year ago with broken and shattered lives.
Over the last 12-24 months these five residents have received love, affirmation, validation, counseling, teaching and encouragement from or staff and volunteers. They will be completing their JOURNEY OF HOPE at Hope Ministries.
Once again, we invite you to participate in a card shower for our five graduates. We encourage you to purchase five greeting cards and write a hand-written note of encouragement and congratulations to each of our graduates. If you are willing, we would ask you to let them know you are also holding them in your prayers.
Please follow the instructions below very carefully and send your cards addressed like the example below so we can receive them by Wednesday, November 7th.
