Record attendance and inspiring testimonies and speakers highlighted Hope Ministries’ 2009 Hearts for Hope Women’s Tea! And for the sixth year in a row, our Women’sTea generated funds for Hope Family Center, our long-term residential and life recovery center for homeless and displaced women and children.

Hope Ministries thanks the over 700 women who attended this year’s Women’s Tea and made a difference in the lives of women and children at our Hope Family Center!

From the wonderful comments we received, we know many of you walked away from this year’s Tea both inspired and uplifted. Here are just a few of the encouraging notes we received:

Thank you for attending and showing your support for women and children at Hope Family Center!

The results are in! This year’s Hearts for Hope Women’s Tea raised over $78,000 for Hope Family Center. What an incredible show of support from women in central Iowa and beyond!

In a time of economic uncertainty, the fact that over 700 women came together to raise $78,000 is definitely something to praise God for!

Every dollar donated to Hope Ministries at the Hearts for Hope Women’s Tea will go toward meeting the needs of homeless and displaced women and children at Hope Family Center. Hope Ministries can’t say “thank you” enough to the Tea attendees who donated.

One of the particularly exciting aspects of this year’s Tea is the fact that of the over 700 women in attendance, 235 women became first-time donors to Hope Ministries. We are grateful for these women who were introduced to Hope Ministries at our 2009 Tea and decided to join with our ministry in reaching out to women and children in need.

Thank you!

There are so many people to thank for their involvement in our Tea this year from the 60 women who served as table hostesses to those who volunteered on the morning of the Tea to the many, many individuals involved in the program.

A special thank you goes to Becca and Paula, the two women from Hope Family Center who shared their testimonies at our Tea. If you missed hearing the testimonies—or would like to re-read their inspiring stories—feel free to click on the following links:

Our 2010 Hearts for Hope Women’s Tea will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2010, once again at the West Des Moines Sheraton Hotel. Planning is already underway for another inspiring event for women.

Women who attended our 2009 participated in a survey regarding the time of day for next year’s event. Thank you to those who participated. The overwhelming response was in favor of keeping our Tea as a late morning/early afternoon event. So next year’s Tea will once again take place beginning in the late morning.

We hope to see you there!
