Off-site Christmas Volunteer Opportunities

Adopt-a-Family

Our Adopt-a-Family program at Christmas is a way for individuals and families to bring joy to both residents of our Hope Family Center and to those who join us at our Bethel Mission Hope Café on Christmas day.

Adopt-a-Family at Hope Family Center: Make the mothers and children at our Hope Family Center feel special by “adopting” a family and purchasing and wrapping gifts for them. We provide a list of suggested gifts.

Adopt-a-Family Hope boxes at Bethel Mission: Hundreds of families join us for a meal on Christmas and we send them home with Hope boxes. We provide a list of suggested gift items to fill the box as well as wrapping instructions.

Adopt-a-Brother

Our Adopt-a-Brother Gift Bag program is for the 125 or more who will be staying with us – either at our Bethel Mission emergency shelter or our Door of Faith recovery center – on Christmas day. Each man residing with us will receive a gift bag on Christmas. We provide a list of suggested gifts.

Quilts for Hope

When we hand out our Quilts of Hope each winter, we’re blessed to see the surprise and gratitude they bring! We invite you to donate new or gently used cozy quilts we’ll distribute during Christmas and throughout the cold-weather months to hundreds of homeless and near-homeless men, women and children. Call (515) 265-7272 or e-mail info@hopeiowa.org to let us know you’d like to help.
