Scan Away Hunger

A local family participates in Scan Away Hunger at a Des Moines area Hy-Vee store.

Hope begins with a meal for the homeless and hungry in our community. Scan Away Hunger takes place each holiday season starting after Thanksgiving and running through December. Scan Away Hunger plates are available at participating Hy-Vee stores. Each time your checker scans the code on your Scan Away Hunger plate, $2.05 is added to your bill to feed and care for homeless and hungry people at Hope Ministries.

All funds received through Scan Away Hunger will be used to help feed and care for homeless and hungry men, women and children in central Iowa throughout the year.

Hope Ministries is grateful to Hy-Vee and KCCI Channel 8 for their significant endorsement of our ministry and commitment to fight hunger and homelessness in our community.

Thank you to Relationship Marketing for designing our Scan Away Hunger plates.

Representatives from Hope Ministries, Hy-Vee, KCCI and corporate sponsors gathered on Thursday, January 28, to celebrate the results of Scan Away Hunger 2009.
