We’re currently gearing up for our big Thanksgiving and Christmas outreaches. Although our Thanksgiving volunteer opportunities are now full (wow – thank you so much to everyone who signed up!), we still have plenty of opportunities to volunteer on Christmas. We’ll be serving and delivering thousands of meals, both onsite and across Des Moines, on Wednesday, Dec. 25. Here’s how you can help:
Please note: Onsite volunteers must be 13 or older. If you’re a family with younger children, consider signing up to serve as a meal delivery driver team!
We’ll serve and deliver thousands of meals this Thanksgiving and Christmas…in addition to the 500+ meals we already serve every day! You can help tremendously by donating much-needed items. We will be collecting holiday food donations on Wednesday, November 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at our Bethel Mission facility (1310 6th Avenue in Des Moines). Needed items include:
We’re on a mission to make sure all 200+ homeless men, women and children in our care this Christmas feel extra loved. You can help us by providing gift bags filled with practical and personal items. You can “adopt” a man, woman or child—we’ll provide a specific gift list, as well as delivery instructions. Sign up to provide one or more bags here.
