Position Title:
Children’s Mentor
Facility/Location: Hope Family Center
Relates closely with: Volunteer Coordinator, Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Family Case Worker, Director of Family Ministries
Purpose: To build and cultivate a healthy one-on-one with a child or youth who is a resident at Hope Family Center
Duties:
• Seek out opportunities to spend time with child
• Get to know child’s interests and talents
• Spend time in both active and quiet relationship building activities including but not limited to attending sporting events, riding bikes or taking walks, sharing a meal or treat together, engaging in a hobby, reading or doing devotions
Time Commitment: (You will choose one day and time per week)
1 or more hours each week for 1 year
Qualifications:
• Be in agreement with Hope Ministries’ Mission, Statement of Faith, Core Values and Purpose
• Comfortable in praying with others
• A servant heart
• Other Qualifications or Skills

• Must relate to children or youth in a positive way
• Must be a good listener
• Must show compassion and easily give encouragement
• Must be engaged in a growing relationship with Christ
• Must be a Christian for at least 2 years
• Must be responsible, accountable and reliable

• Schedule a VIP orientation
• Obtain references
• Schedule an on-site facility orientation
