The Hearts for Hope Women’s Tea is an elegant event where women “who can” join together to help women who are struggling to stabilize and restore their lives. While the event is free, it is a benefit to raise money for Hope Family Center. Attendees can look forward to an opportunity to make a personal gift or pledge during an event to support the life changing work at Hope Family Center.

Introducing Our Speaker and Teacher
Carol John, born with polio and limited to a wheelchair, has traveled worldwide as a motivational speaker and teacher, and has traveled worldwide as a motivational speaker and teacher, and has collaborated with Wheels for the World, an organization founded by Joni Eareckson Tada. Prior to the Hearts for Hope Tea, Carol will spend time with mothers at our Hope Family Center. Following the tea, she’ll hold a two-hour workshop on managing pain and suffering.
“Carol has an infectious personality,” says David Burrier, Hope Ministries’ chief development officer. “Those who attend will be inspired by her personal struggle to overcome life’s speed bumps.”

Brooke Bouma is a morning anchor at WHO-TV Channel 13 in Des Moines. An Iowa native, Brooke grew up in rural Ottumwa and graduated from Central College. She currently co-anchors Today in Iowa on Channel 13 each weekday from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, Evan. Brooke said she greatly admires the work Hope Ministries does to meet the needs of homeless and hungry people in Central Iowa and is excited to serve as the emcee for this year’s Hearts for Hope Women’s Tea.
“My Heart is Overflowing”

After being court appointed to Hope Family Center nearly two years ago, Jenny will graduate from our H.E.A.R.T. Recovery program at this year’s TEA. Jenny will speak about her journey of hope and receive her graduation certificate.

TABLE HOSTESS
Last year we had 36 tables hosted by individuals, churches, corporations, civic groups and more. We expect over 50 tables to be hosted this year. To host or reserve a table of ten, call Melissa at 265-7272 or send an e-mail to mtagg@hopeiowa.org.
