The 2004 Scan Away Hunger appeal was a huge success resulting in a 134% increase over the previous year and with thousands of central Iowans participating. 10,777 meals were donated in a four-week period. This amounts to nearly an entire months of meals at Hope Ministries.
Hope Ministries is grateful for the partnership of Hy-Vee, KCCI-TV 8 and Q99.5 KZZQ, and these sub-sponsors: Bar-S Bacon, Brakebush Brothers, Campbell’s, Cedar Hollow Hams, Cookies BBQ, Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage, Kellogg’s Snacks, Old Dutch, Relationship Marketing, Robert’s Dairy, Sara Lee and Well’s Blue Bunny.
Thanks to all who gave to meet the needs of the hungry who depend on Hope Ministries for help. God bless you.
2004 Mission of Hope Campaign
In September 2004, Hope Ministries announced Mission of Hope, our first-ever holiday campaign to raise $671,000 the amount needed to meet half of our annual funding requirements for our daily operating expenses. Our faithful donors heard the call and responded generously to meet and exceed the goal!
By campaign's end January 31st, the four-month Mission of Hope campaign raised a total of $796,198. These funds have and will continue to enable us to shelter, feed, and provide healing and recovery services for hundreds of homeless men, women and their children through the winter months. With your faithful support, in the past two years alone we have provided over 280,000 meals and over 80,000 nights of shelter - all of this through private support and with no government funding.
We sincerely thank our donors for being partners in this very important mission field right here in our back yard. We have faith that we can continue to count on you to partner with us in the coming months and throughout 2005 as we bring relief, recovery and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost of central Iowa. Thank you so very much!
2004 Hearts for Hope Tea
