Our
Make a Bed—Keep Them Fed© program provides such an opportunity for individuals, couples, families, small groups, youth groups and others.
This two-hour time commitment involves serving a meal to our homeless shelter guests at our Hope Café, located at our Bethel Mission Facility (1310 6th Avenue, Des Moines). In addition, you will "adopt" one of the beds in our shelter dorm. Your experience will include making up a bed—changing out the old sheets, putting on new sheets and a new pillow, and leaving a card of encouragement. You will be asked to join our Hope Prayer Team and pray for those who will sleep in "your" bed and for our work with those who are homeless.
