Des Moines Area Sock Drive Campaign

Socks are a HUGE need for those who are the poorest of the poor in our community.
The Des Moines Area Sock Drive Campaign is inspired by Walt Disney Picture’s new family movie, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, releasing in theaters on August 15.
Hope Ministries is one of over 300-plus homeless ministries across North America that are partnering with AGRM, Walt Disney Pictures and Different Drummer, to ask local theaters, churches, ministers, and businesses to collaborate in a massive Sock Drive campaign from now until September 3, 2012. We invite you to join us in an attempt to collect 5,000 pairs of NEW socks for homeless and disadvantaged men, women and children right here in Des Moines and central Iowa.
 Hope Ministries will facilitate the campaign by distributing the sock boxes to community partners and picking up the donated socks and boxes starting on September 4, 2012.
Sock boxes are provided free of charge and are available to your organization while supplies last. The actual size is 17.3125"w x 32"h—each side. There is no deadline for registration, but there is a limited supply of sock boxes.
