Volunteering

Thanks so much for your continued partnership with Hope Ministries! You are a special blessing to our ministry.

We have a new year ahead and many opportunities to get involved. Read more. . .

Welcome and thank you for visiting our Web site! I am so glad that you are considering partnering with us as a volunteer. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Hope Ministries. More than 1,000 people provide valuable services to our programs and facilities each and every year. At Hope Ministries we see our volunteers as part of our ministry team, equipped to meet the needs of men, women and children we serve in out community. There are a variety of service and volunteer opportunities for you and/or your group to become personally involved. Coming face-to-face with the homeless and needy can be a life-changing experience. No longer are they faces on television, or an "issue" to discuss. Instead, they're people—men and women, boys and girls—with hopes, loves, dreams, disappointments and a compelling need for God's love. I personally invite you to consider joining our ministry team as a volunteer.

Feel free to contact me at info@hopeiowa.org or by calling (515) 265-7272, ext. 106.

Hope Ministries Volunteer Ministry Program consists of two "tracks:"

Track 1: Individual VIP (Volunteer Impact Program)
Track 2: Volunteer Group

We also have a variety of Food-related Volunteer Opportunities. To learn more about these opportunities, please click here.

Specialized Volunteer Opportunities: From time to time, we are in need of volunteers with specialized skills such as photography, mechanical or electrical work, sewing, Spanish translation, etc. If you have a particular skill you’d like to use to bless our ministry, we invite you to fill out our VIP Volunteer Application. Space is available on the application for you to indicate your skill.

Community Service: Hope Ministries often receives inquiries about volunteer opportunities for individuals needing to complete community service hours. We are able to accommodate those needing to complete school-assigned community service as part of coursework. However, we require a two-week advance notice, and we may or may not be able accommodate all or part of required hours due to staff availability. If under 18 years old, volunteers must be accompanied by an adult.
