Position Title:
Hope on the Streets

Facility/Location: Begin at Bethel Mission- then various sites around Des Moines

Relates closely with:
• Director of Men’s Ministry
• Hope Ministries staff
• Volunteer Coordinator

Purpose: Hope on the Streets provides resources to disenfranchised men, women, and children in Des Moines who have suffered long term homelessness, been dependent on tent camps, or recently have become homeless. This daytime outreach program goes on foot or by bike to dispense information about Hope Ministries’ free meals program, shelter, and recovery programs along with referral assistance, encouragement, and the love of Christ..

Time Commitment:
3 hours per month from 8am-11am on Saturday mornings

Qualifications:
• Be in agreement with Hope Ministries’ Mission, Statement of Faith, Core Values and Purpose
• Comfortable with praying alongside others
• A servant heart

Application/training/orientation and other requirements:
Complete an on-line application. The volunteer coordinator will contact you to complete the following:

• Schedule a Hope Ministries Community Awareness Tour
• Arrange a signature for a background check
• Schedule a VIP Orientation
• Schedule an on-site facility orientation
