Endowed Gifts

Your gifts can last forever

Start Paying It Forward

A gift toward our Hope Iowa Endowment today provides a brighter picture for our future. When you make a donation to our endowment, you give a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits.

Endowment donations are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs at Hope Ministries. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support.

Fund Your Donation With:

  • Cash
  • Appreciated Securities
  • Tangible Personal Property
  • Real Estate

An example of how it works

Let’s say longtime supporters Mary and Peter are looking for a way to extend their support for Hope Ministries. They decide our endowment is a good option for continuing their legacy of giving beyond their lifetime.

Mary and Peter make a $25,000 donation to Hope Ministries, which we invest, and each year, a portion of the income from the invested money will be used to support our mission. Plus, they qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction on their taxes.

"There are several reasons I give through the endowment. For one thing, getting an Iowa tax credit for 25% of the value of my gift increases my tax savings dramatically! But it's also gratifying to create a gift that lasts forever. I like knowing that a continuing cash flow from an endowment makes the amount of money available to Hope Ministries year by year more stable."

"I was a 96-pound methamphetamine addict. I was completely broken, completely shattered, completely without hope...Today I’m married to a wonderful woman. I have a college degree. I went from homeless to homeowner. And now I work here at Hope Ministries!" ~Nick

"Giving to the endowment is investing in the future. The endowment gives Hope Ministries a guaranteed income for years to come. It's like a trust fund for an organization. It gives the organization some stability for longevity. Also, it is a bigger tax deduction through the Iowa tax endowment tax credits, which I try and utilize."
