03 Nov Christmas Volunteer Registration—Open Now!

We’re so thankful to the volunteers who help make our huge Christmas Meal Outreach happe! This year, we’re planning to serve and deliver more than 2,500 meals to hungry people all around Des Moines!

Volunteer registration for our 2025 Christmas Meal Outreach is open now.

We have volunteer opportunities on both Satuday, December 21, during our Christmas Open House & Donation Drive and on Christmas itself, December 25, to help us provide pork loin dinners to people in need around the Greater Des Moines area. Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Christmas Day Onsite Volunteers (Thursday, Dec. 25)—You can help with everything from packaging meals, to loading meals into vehicles, to decorating Hope Cafe, to washing dishes. We have a variety of roles and timeframes vary from role to role. Onsite volunteers must be 13+.
• Christmas Day Meal Delivery Driver Teams (Thursday, Dec. 25)—Deliver meals around the Greater Des Moines Area. This is a great opportunity for families with kids who are too young to volunteer onsite. You just need a vehicle big enough to fit around 20 grocery sacks and your own navigation system. We’ll provide your delivery addresses prior to the holiday.
