Dairy Donors: We’re looking for families or small groups who will commit to donate a specific list of about $50 worth of perishable items to our Door of Faith men’s recovery center once a month.
Saturday Childcare: We need groups of 10 (high school age and older) to nurture children at our Hope Center for Women and Children while their moms are in a sewing/craft class from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month.
1st Friday Family Fun Night: This takes place at our Hope Center from 6 to 7:45 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. Plan activities of your own or make use of the games we have available. We’ll ask that you supply light refreshments.
Work projects at Hope Ministries Thrift: One of our greatest ongoing needs for hands-on help is in our thrifty ministry. We’re looking for groups to complete various projects in and around our stores throughout the year.
Hope Experience: This new opportunity allows church groups to participate in an interactive Zoom presentation. Over the course of 45 minutes, groups will get a special inside look at our Life Recovery Programs that are helping men and women transform their lives! Sign up here.
Corners of Your Field is a partnership opportunity between local churches and Hope Ministries Thrift. Corners of Your Field encourages attendees of our partner churches to be intentional about donating their gently used household items to Hope Ministries Thrift. Our stores then return a portion of the value of these items in the form of gift cards to your church to help struggling individuals and families directly in your care.
Souper Bowl Sunday is a super simple way to celebrate the big game while feeding neighbors in need! In the weeks leading up to the big game (February 13), consider asking your church family to donate cans of soup—specifically, beef stew and chili. These donations will be used to help us serve hundreds of free warm meals every day to men, women and children in Central Iowa. We have a limited number of large soup barrels available for collecting cans. You can also download and print this flier to spread the word.
Once you’re done collecting cans, they can be delivered to our Hope Cafe or we can come pick them up. Please email Terri at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange schedule/delivery and reserve a soup barrel. Thanks!
Churches often contact us asking about the possibility of sponsoring a donation drive. We appreciate this! Please contact us before you begin a drive so we can fill you in on our most current needs and help provide any materials, logos, etc. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to let us know of your interest.
