Vikki: The Joy of Sobriety & A New Dream

You might remember Vikki’s story if you saw her on the cover of our Stories of Hope newsletter last summer. If not, you can check it out here.

But in a nutshell, she told us at the time that her past in Ohio was filled with pain and abuse in her childhood—which led to experimenting with drugs in her young adult years. Her addiction to cocaine eventually found her homeless—often sleeping in other people’s homes, on the streets, in her car or even dope houses.

But as of January 14, 2022, Vikki is now three years sober!

One of the cool things about Vikki’s story is that when she first discovered Hope Ministries through an online search and called us, she found out the staff member she was speaking to was also from Ohio! They bonded quickly and soon after, Vikki traveled to Iowa. Last summer, she completed our CORE program and, in her words, “now everything is great.”

Here’s an update on how she’s doing today. 🙂
