We are so thankful for the 350+ individuals who serve with Hope Ministries on a regular, committed basis...weekly, monthly or quarterly. We call them our M25 Volunteers, based on Matthew 25:35-40. M25s volunteer in a variety of positions, including teaching classes, leading chapel, serving meals, helping at our administrative office, sorting and organizing at our ENCORE Thrift Stores, etc.

Interested? Here's how to join the Network:

Please note: Due to holiday activities, we will not be signing up new M25 volunteers until January 2018. Please check our website after the New Year to sign up for our next volunteer orientation. In the meantime, feel free to check out our group or holiday volunteer opportunities.

We often have a need for volunteers at all our facilities! You can check out the plethora of opportunities here. But here are a few of our current and ongoing greatest needs:

  • Chapel Leaders at Bethel Mission or Devotions Leader at Hope Center
  • Thrift Store Helpers at ENCORE Thrift Stores
  • Children's Activities at Hope Center for Women and Children

Just FYI: All our M25 Volunteers are required to review and affirm our Mission Statement, Core Values and Statement of Faith. We also require a background check for every M25 Volunteer.

Hope 101 is a required volunteer orientation to help familiarize you with Hope Ministries' values and programs and provide all the information you need to join our M25 Volunteer Network. It also includes the opportunity to help serve lunch to our hungry Hope Cafe guests!

Hope 101 takes place on one Saturday each month from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at our Bethel Mission men's emergency shelter. Please note: If you're still interested in volunteering after attending Hope 101, we require a one-time $25 processing fee which covers the cost of your background check and volunteer t-shirt.

Due to holiday activities, we will not have another Hope 101 seminar until January 2018.

After you've attended Hope 101, it's time to start volunteering. Our volunteer coordinators will work with you to determine which ministry center or volunteer role is best for you and get you added to our schedule.

If you have questions about volunteering, feel free to give us a call at (515) 265-7272 or email info@hopeiowa.org.
