Consider covering the cost of a day of care! It costs Hope Ministries $49.24 to provide one day of residential care to a man, woman or child. This includes a safe space to spend the day and sleep at night, all meals provided, shower and hygiene supplies, support from case managers and other staff, and access to needed resources for their individual needs—such as laundry, bus tokens/passes, clothing, school supplies, computer access, coordination with other providers for needed services including mental/physical health care, and much more.

Free Community Meals
Your monthly giving provides free breakfast, lunch and dinner every day for hungry men, women and children. Literally thousands of people in Central Iowa struggle with food insecurity on a daily basis. For many low-income individuals and families, the free meals they receive at Hope Ministries help them to redirect financial resources that might’ve otherwise gone toward groceries—allowing them to stay in their homes and pay utility bills. For others who need help with deep-seated struggles, free meals are a first step toward larger life changes.
Safe Shelter
Every night in Iowa, hurting people go to sleep in cars and under bridges . . . or if they’re lucky that night, a cheap motel or maybe a friend’s couch. Our three shelter and life recovery centers offer a safe haven and a place of rest for men, women and children who need to know they’re cared for. Some stay only a few nights, a few weeks or a few months. Others choose to transition into our free life recovery programs, where they continue to have their basic needs met while they work to rebuild their lives.
Life-changing Recovery
Your partnership means a fresh start for hundreds of individuals every year! Our free long-term life recovery programs include practical life skills classes, substance abuse counseling, job readiness training, educational opportunities and much more. Last year, 261 people participated in our recovery programs, striving for freedom from past struggles and working toward a brighter future.
