We need compassionate women of action to come alongside us—and maybe that’s you! We’re looking for women who are passionate about supporting other women as they strive to overcome homelessness, abuse, addiction and other life trauma that has kept them and their children from living healthy, hope-filled lives.
Empowering Women is about women helping women. It’s about seeing the need in our communities—particularly the needs of hurting women—and understanding we can all be a part of lifting up our struggling neighbors. It’s about learning from each other and growing side-by-side . . . and together, empowering homeless single women and moms with kids.
Your annual $1,000 Empowering Women contribution supports our comprehensive programs and services for women and children.
We'll provide meaningful volunteer opportunities that are unique to Empowering Women and can be tailored to your availability. These volunteer opportunities will be a great way to get to know your fellow Empowering Women and personally see the impact you're making at our Hope Center!
We also want to empower you to be an advocate for women in need. You'll learn more about our mission, the women and children we serve and the challenges they face, through educational seminars/webinars with our staff and potentially other experts.
Join us for lunch and a fun service project, assembling welcome bags for our new residents at Hope Ministries Center for Women and Children. We’ll start with lunch in our Carlson Cafe, then cross the hall to the auditorium to put together 50-75 welcome bags. Plus, you’ll write encouragement cards to go in the bags. This will be a wonderful opportunity for fellowship with each other and possibly some of our residents, as well!
To RSVP, please email Leslie Green at lgreen@hopeiowa.org or call (515) 265-7272. We can’t wait to see you!
