Holiday Volunteer Opportunities

We serve and deliver special holiday meals on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas! We’re currently gearing up for our Easter outreach which will take place on Saturday, April 20. Please note: This is different from past years. We are assembling and delivering meals on Saturday this year instead of Sunday in order to allow our volunteers and meal recipients to attend Easter services.

Registration for Easter volunteering will open to the general public on Monday, March 25. Visit this page that day for the link to sign up. (If you’re an M25 Volunteer, you’ll get the opportunity to sign up early! Watch your inbox for an exclusive registration link on March 18.)

Easter Volunteers

On Saturday, April 20, we have two volunteer opportunities:

  • Onsite Volunteers—helping us package and serve meals. Must be 13 or older. Time commitment is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Meal Delivery Driver Teams—helping us deliver meals around the Des Moines area. We’ll provide addresses ahead of time, and will ask that you use your own GPS to determine our route. You’ll need a car large enough to fit 25-40 grocery sacks. This is a great option for families with younger kids! Time commitment is 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Watch this page on March 25 for Easter registration!

If you have any questions on any of these holiday opportunities, please contact our volunteer coordinator at (515) 265-7272 or info@hopeiowa.org.
