When our Hope Ministries Center for Women and Children moved out of its old location in late 2024 and into its new building, we found ourselves with an opportunity to repurpose our property at 3333 E. University. So we di!
As of spring 2025, the three ranch-style homes our Hope Center now serve as our men’s supportive housing campus!
There’s a huge need for affordable housing in Des Moines—and we’ve seen the impact of this gap in housing options on the individuals we serve. The men in our shelter and life recovery programs are working hard to rebuild their lives, but when they’re ready to live independently, finding a place they can afford is a major hurdle.
Our new Hope Ministries Men’s Supportive Housing Campus includes 24 units for men we’ve previously served and a live-in housing supervisor. In addition to offering an affordable housing option, the campus provides a sense of community for like-minded men who are committed to sobriety and accountability. We also offer ongoing supportive services for men as they continue their recovery journey and save up for future permanent housing.
